A general rule of thumb is to allow one and a half hours from Midland. Dowerin is 165kms from the Perth CBD. Please note the region is heavily policed during the field day event and multa nova cameras are used extensively. With the extremely large volume of traffic some delays can be expected and we would suggest allowing a little extra time for your journey (during the peak three days).
Perth (CBD, Southern, Western and Eastern Suburbs)
Guildford Road, or Great Eastern Highway, through Midland and up Greenmount Hill. Roe Highway users, turn right at Great Eastern Highway and continue up Greenmount Hill. Follow Great Eastern Highway, staying on Northam bypass extension, then take third Northam turn-off (on right), turn left at T-Junction, towards Goomalling. Continue through Goomalling (across railway lines) to Dowerin.
Perth (Northern Suburbs)
Turn left off Roe Highway onto Toodyay Road, just before the township of Toodyay, turn right onto the Goomalling Road (service station on the corner). At Goomalling, turn left across railway lines continuing on to Dowerin. This is actually a shorter route from Perth, however slow traffic and a lack of passing lines may combine to make the actual journey longer.
Geraldton, Mingenew, Dandaragan etc
Moora across to Wongan Hills, turn left at Goomalling / Dowerin turn-off.
Kalgoorlie, Merredin
Take the Nungarin turn-off and continue through Wyalkatchem to Dowerin.
Great Southern (Albany, Narrogin, Wagin etc)
Travel through York onto Northam, take Goomalling Road, through Goomalling across railway lines to Dowerin (a further 23kms).
Bunbury, Margaret River etc
Take the inland road through Yarloop and Armadale, then Roe Highway through to Great Eastern Highway intersection, travel up Greenmount Hill. Follow Great Eastern Highway, stay on Northam bypass extension, then take third Northam turn-off (on right), turn left at T-Junction, towards Goomalling. Continue through Goomalling (across railway lines) to Dowerin.
